Te Anau - Escape to natural splendour
Nestled in a dense concentration of pristine untouched National Parks, lakes, and fiords, this is an awe-inspiring part of New Zealand that feels a bit more like Jurassic Park than real life.
Te Anau is a small, walkable town centre that's just a wee bit charming. With a beautiful lake on your doorstep, mountains, sounds, and glacial valleys just a stone's throw a way, this is a part of New Zealand everyone should visit at least once.
Visitors often take a day trip out to Milford Sound, but Doubtful Sound is equally (if not more) splendid. You're also spoiled for Great Walks with the Kepler, Milford, Routeburn, Hollyford, and Humpridge Tracks close by.
