  2. Luxmore Jet offers a great jet boat tour on the Waiau River. This trip incorporates some Lord of the Rings scenery and travels alongside the Kepler Track. Click here for more about this activity.
  3. The Glow Worm caves are also still operational and run by Real Journeys. Click here for more about this activity.
  4. If travelling by vehicle guests can still explore the Milford Road as far as the Hollyford turnoff which is well worth doing as there are many day walks throughout this section, including parts of the Routeburn Track.

  6. Te Anau boasts a fantastic boutique style movie theatre where guests can relax in comfort with a wine or coffee. Currently showing: Ata Whenua – Shadowland, a thirty minute scenic viewing of Fiordland. Click here for more about the theatre.

Case Study

Auckland Youth Orchestra stayed at YHA Te Anau in July 2013 with 60+ young musicians. Player Representative on the Executive Committee and Associate Principal Cellist, Bleau Bustenera, said AYO has stayed with YHA on tour before and they always find YHA to be accommodating with fun and friendly staff.

She said, “It's not easy to provide such great accommodation and service for 60 plus teenagers and young adults all with instruments in tow! But YHA manages to do all of this and more.” Auckland Youth Orchestra has also toured in Te Anau on its last South Island Tour several years ago. Bleau said, “We enjoyed Te Anau so much, we decided to come back.”
