YHA Aoraki Mt Cook

Description

We're excited to announce YHA Aoraki Mt Cook is our latest hostel to join the renewable energy ranks! The newest feature of the hostel is a series of brand new solar panels; check out the splash monitoring feed in the hostel for a live feed on how much solar energy we're generating.

Come and relax in the welcoming YHA Aoraki Mt Cook after a busy day enjoying the majestic beauty of the region. YHA Aoraki Mt Cook is a cosy, log-cabin style building with recently refurbished kitchen and bathrooms. Our lounge often has a log fire burning which makes it a warm and inviting place to relax at the end of a long day exploring.

Take advantage of 2GB of free WiFi per day, guitars available in the lounge, our book exchange, TV lounge, board games, and of course our free sauna. In summer our BBQ and picnic areas are popular; in winter you'll enjoy viewing fresh snowfall from your bedroom whilst appreciating the central heating!

Because of YHA Aoraki Mt Cook's stunning location, our hostel guests tend to rise early and get out and about to enjoy the scenery. Check with reception for information on local weather and the best walks in the area; our friendly and knowledgeable staff can book tours and activities for you. A small selection of food items and necessities are available at our in-house convenience store (there is no supermarket in the village!); you can also purchase breakfast.

Relax at YHA Aoraki Mt Cook and we think you'll feel right at home.

Please note our accommodation rates include $1 per night community levy to assist with Aoraki Mount Cook village development. Our hostel staff work with the Department of Conservation (DOC) to help them preserve the Aoraki Mount Cook National Park for future generations. We hope you'll enjoy the area as much as we do!
