YHA Westport

Description

With shared and private accommodation, TripInn is situated in a quiet side street only 100 meters from the Post Office and within easy walking distance to all shopping and evening entertainment.

Originally a stately gentleman's residence, built in the late 1860's, it is now protected under the NZ Historic Places Trust.

Beautiful gardens, woodwork and intricate pressed tin ceilings create a unique atmosphere. The large common rooms, the fully equipped kitchen, modern laundry and some accommodation are in the oldest part of the building.

More recent additions provide for double and twin rooms, while a new building with its own toilet and shower block contains five units suitable for families or groups.

TripInn caters for the budget conscious independent visitor, as well as families and small to medium size groups. Flexibility with 64 beds over 16 rooms accommodating 2,4,5,6 or 8 persons.

By Car:

Driving into town on main street, turn right at New world corner, sign pointing to backpackers ( into Wakefield Street) , turn second street on your left which is Queen Street. You will see our sign 50 meters down.

By Bus:

All busses drop you of at the i.site, only 100 meters from our hostel

YHA Westport hostel provides quality, secure and affordable accommodation for education, sports and tour groups.  We have a brand new large kitchen and new bathrooms, 2 lounges, a dining room, a games room, a BBQ area and large deck.

Capacity and Room Types

 YHA Westport can host up to 70 guests across various room types. 

Room types available are:

  • 8 x 6 bed multi-share
  • 2 x 4 bed multi-share
  • 1 x 3 bed multi-share
  • 7 x twin and double rooms
  • 3 x twin, double and triple rooms with en suite facilities.

Shared rooms

Group members will stay in a mixture of 4 and 6 bed share rooms. All bedding is provided (duvets, sheets and pillows) and towels can be hired for $1 each.

Private rooms

Supervisors and tour leaders can be accommodated in single, double or twin rooms with private or shared bathroom facilities. These rooms include all bed linen and towels. Please note that we have a limited number of private rooms with en suite facilities and they are subject to availability.

WiFi

To hlep you stay connected Wifi is free for all guests at YHA Westport.
