Car:

If travelling from Queenstown via the Crown Range, turn right off the Cardrona Valley Road into Brownston Street; if Travelling via SH84, turn left onto Brownston Street.

Please note: it's highly recommended to carry snow chains at all times in the winter months.

We are located 10 km from Wanaka airport – shuttles are available for $15 and meet all flights into Wanaka

Hostel capacity

YHA Wanaka can cater for up to 110 people across 32 rooms.

Room types available are:

  • 1 x 8 bed multi-share ensuite
  • 7 x 6 bed multi-share ensuite
  • 4 x 4 bed multi-share ensuite
  • 2 x 3 bed multi-share ensuite
  • 1 x triple ensuite
  • 4 x twin and double rooms
  • 1 x single ensuite
  • 12 x twin and double rooms with ensuite facilities.

 

 

Room types

Shared rooms

Group members are accommodated in comfortable 4 - 8 bed rooms with ensuite facilities. All bedding is provided (duvets, sheets and pillows) and towels can be hired for $1.

Private rooms

Group leaders and supervisors can be accommodated in double or twin rooms with private or shared bathroom facilities. These rooms include all bed linen and towels. 

Please note that we have a limited number of private rooms with ensuite facilities and they are subject to availability.

Meals

Continental breakfast can be served in our group kitchen upon request for $10 per person. It includes a choice of three cereals, fruit, toast and spreads, tea, coffee and fruit juice.  

 

 

 

FREE booking service

A free booking service is provided for all land-based domestic travel and activities including: Interislander and Bluebridge ferries, Tranzalpine, Tranzscenic and Overland trains, Intercity coach travel and local shuttle services.

Location

 YHA Wanaka is in central Wanaka overlooking Pembroke park to the lake and mountains. Restaurants, shops and the local cinema are a just a short walk away. In winter ski shuttles pick up form the door for New Zealand's top ski fields of Treble Cone, Cardrona and Snow Farm.

By Car

By Bus/Shuttle

All buses and shuttles pick up and drop off at the hostel.

By Plane

10km from Wanaka airport - shuttles are available fro $15 and meet all flights into Wanaka. Queenstown airport is 63km from YHA Wanaka, talk to YHA Wanaka's Groups Coordinator about arranging a chartered shuttle for you.  

Car Parking
