YHA Queenstown Lakefront

YHA Queenstown Lakefront is closed from September for some much needed love and attention. We've listened to your comments and we are investing quite a bit to upgrade more rooms, renovate our kitchen, laundry and drying rooms, upgrade bathrooms and make the whole place more cosy. We'll be open sparkling and ready for you this summer. But if you can't wait that long to visit Queenstown head over to our fantastic YHA Queenstown Central to secure your bed (because there's less of them right now!).

If you want to experience the beauty and excitement of Queenstown but still get a good night’s sleep, then YHA Queenstown Lakefront is the hostel for you – and it’s only a 10 minute walk into town.

The YHA Queenstown Lakefront hostel is a comfortable fully equipped hostel sitting right on the shores of Lake Wakatipu, offering enchanting views of the lake and Remarkables mountain range. Yet, even though the centre of Queenstown is only 10 minutes walk away this backpackers is remarkably peaceful and quiet so you can still get a good night’s sleep after you’ve been skiing all day and enjoying the Queenstown nightlife all evening.

All the accommodation is comfortable, clean and quiet and the views over Lake Wakatipu out to the Remarkables from the common rooms are stunning. The hostel also has a fully equipped kitchen for your use.

The Queenstown Lakefront hostel staff are friendly with vast amounts of local knowledge to provide you with a free travel booking service and let you in on the latest YHA special deals from Queenstown’s diverse menu of adventures. Backpackers just love the YHA Queenstown Lakefront hostel and come back again and again.

“This friendly alpine lodge has staff that are very well-versed in Queenstown's mountain of activities…This place is very popular with backpackers after fresh air and long treks, as well as with those recovering from large-scale pub crawls. Either way, you're sure to find company. Located directly across the road from the lake, it's a pleasant 10-minute view-filled walk into town.” – Simone Egger, Lonely Planet Reviewer.
