One of the most centrally located hostels in Wellington and ideal for everything that Wellington has to offer. There is an espresso bar on site, selling barista made coffee and a selection of cabinet food. The hostel is in easy walking distance to the bars, shops and theatres on Courtenay Place and close to Te Papa museum, the waterfront and Embassy Theatre.
All 4 share ensuite rooms have lockers and if you prefer your own space we have twin, double and queen private rooms. YHA members receive 1GB free Wifi.

Intercity stops at the Railway Station but ask the driver before getting on the bus to drop you at the Fire Station, opposite the Hostel.
7km Airport shuttles cost $20 to the door. Airbus 91 is $8.50 to Courtenay Place. Taxi is $25.
Railway station 1.5km. Take Bus No 1 or 2 for $2 and get off at the last stop on Courtenay Place. Turn left onto Cambridge Tce. Hostel is 50m on left. Taxi is $10 - $12.

Please note that due to the layout of rooms, groups of 40 or more may be located on different levels. All bedrooms require swipe keys for access and a duplicate set can be provided for leaders to access all rooms allocated to your group.
Group members are accommodated in comfortable 4 or 6 bed rooms. Shared single sex bathroom facilities are situated on each floor, however most share rooms have ensuite facilities. All bedding is provided (duvets, sheets and pillows) and towels can be hired for $1.
Supervisors and tour leaders can be accommodated in single, double or twin rooms with private or shared bathroom facilities. These rooms include all bed linen and towels. Please note that we have a limited number of private rooms with ensuite facilities and they are subject to availability.
Continental breakfast can be served in our group kitchen upon request for $10 per person. It includes a choice of three cereals, yogurt, fruit, toast and spreads (butter, jam, honey and peanut butter), tea, coffee and fruit juice.
We know being a group leader is tough work at the best of times and you need to stay contactable as much as possible to keep things running smoothly. To help you stay connected YHA provides group leaders with free high speed WiFi during their stay.
A free booking service is provided for all land-based domestic travel and activities including: Interislander and Bluebridge ferries, Tranzalpine, Tranzscenic and Overland trains, Intercity coach travel and local shuttle services.
