YHA Catlins Coast and Holiday Park

YHA Catlins is based in Owaka, one of the main starting points from which to explore the charms of the magical Catlins area of Southland. YHA Catlins Coast and Holiday Park offers affordable backpacker hostel accommodation and powered camping sites with a rural outlook amongst spacious grounds.
YHA Catlins hostel offers backpacker accommodation in a large character house with many common areas to relax in, including a large games room with full sized pool table, darts board, piano and satellite TV, two sunrooms with comfy couches, a library and a meeting room. Also make use of the hostel’s communal kitchen and generous dining room with seating for more than 50 people.
Located close to the many natural attractions and surf beaches of the Catlins areas, make sure you take advantage of the Catlins backpacker’s mountain bike and sea kayak rental to get out amongst it. And if you need a food or drink top-up visit the nearby supermarket and pub in Owaka.
