Everything! Great location, great staff, great facilities, great value. What more could a backpacker want????!!!!!

HostelBookers, 8 January 2009

This was one of the best hostels we've ever been! Kitchen was very well equiped and the hostel has a very nice outdoor lounge area! Can really recommend it!

HIHostels.com, 17 November 2008

The managers were fastidious with cleanliness & tidiness (which I really like) & very helpful. We had a double room with en suite which was half the cost of an average motel so if you want to save your money for oher things then this hostel makes an ideal base for touring. The location was excellent as it was just 75 metres to the beautiful Paihia beach & several eateries. Mini supermarket just around the corner. Main shopping centre & other eateries a gentle 300 metre flat stroll along the beachfront. The kitchen was spotlessly clean with stainless steel preparation surfaces. Self-adhesive labels & marker pens were available for marking your food for the fridges and floor-to-ceiling cubed storage for dry goods. A variety of filled spice jars (with cooking ideas) were provided for community use. The hostel was a friendly place to meet with other people without it being noisy. Lighting in public areas is on an automatic timer & switches off at 11pm. The kitchen is locked by a security guard at 11pm. There were several indoor & outdoor, covered & uncovered areas for eating & socialising. An outdoor smoking area was provided.

Really helpful and friendly staff. They were great about telling us about things that was going on in the area and what was worth seeing and doing. The rooms and kitchen were really clean. Only a walk along the street to some really good bars too.
